Modern Solutions for Old Signal Problems
Notre Dame University November 3-4, 2026
“Win one for the Gipper!” Join us on November 3 and 4, 2026 for a two-day signal and train control engineering conference at Notre Dame University sponsored by Pintsch North America, a leading provider of wheel sensors and axle counting solutions.
This conference will be of interest to engineers and technicians who want to learn more about the utilization of vital axle counting methods within existing signal and train control environments. Topics covered will include:
-
The fundamentals of axle counting.
-
The design and function of wheel sensors.
-
Failsafe (vital) design principles.
-
Grade crossing system applications and design principles.
-
Yard control applications and design principles.
- Wayside signal system applications.
- Specialized applications: speed measurement, PTC applications, island replacement, etc.
- Examples and discussion based on “real world” applications.
Plenty of time will be available for informal discussion with one’s peers. There will also be an opportunity for hands-on experience with a variety of axle counting technology.
When the conference is not in session, one can experience the Notre Dame campus including the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, Notre Dame Stadium, the Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes, and the famed “Touchdown Jesus” mural on the Hesburgh Library.
Notre Dame also invites exploration through world-class experiences like the Raclin Murphy Museum of Art, the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center, and a vibrant lineup of concerts, lectures, and performances open to the public. Of course, Notre Dame is also home to the legendary Fighting Irish football team.
Please CLICK HERE to register for the Beyond Track Circuits Conference no later than September 30, 2026. The conference starts on November 2, 2026 through November 5, 2026.
You’ll also find information on our registration page for booking your hotel reservations.
Reservations will be accepted starting August 13, 2026 to the conference date.
